Testing and Inspection – WEST LONDON ELECTRICIAN CLUB

Electrical systems must be tested regularly to ensure the Installation is safe for continued use. This is why it is a recommendation of the law to have regular testing and inspections  carried out. Materials naturally degrade and installations undergo stress all of which contribute to the failure of systems. All domestic properties should be tested and inspected every 10 years, however rental properties should be tested every 5 years. Electrician Club are qualified to undertake all standard forms of inspection and testing in the electro-technical industry.

POPULAR QUESTIONS

Any domestic work requiring a new circuit to be installed or replacement of a consumer unit/fuse board requires Building Control to be notified. We are approved to carry this out for you and will provide an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) with any notifiable. All our notifiable works are guaranteed for six years. Additions, alterations and accessory replacement usually only require a minor works certificate and will be provided to our client in the absence of an EIC.

Yes we are qualified as level 3 inspectors and testers, the level required for commercial inspection and testing and can provide regular inspections for large scale commercial projects for all phases of the installation.

No, when carrying out notifiable and non-notifiable work an Electrical Installation Certificate must be given to the client. This is a requirement by law and we make sure we provide this to our clients so they can be assured of the quality of work they have been provided. The cost of the certificate is not extra.

After inspection, if your property does not meet the minimum requirements for safety, then we will be able to provide a list of safety failures and will be happy to provide you a quotation for the rectification of the system failures. After these works have been completed we will be able to provide you with new certification stating that your property’s electrical systems are safe and when the next recommended inspection should take place.
